H. Frederick Bowman, Ph.D., President, CEO & Chairman
Dr. Bowman is the inventor of the Company's technology and co-founder of Hemedex. He is also the founder and Chairman of Thermal Technologies, Inc. He concurrently served as the Senior Academic Administrator of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology for 40 years through September 2010. He served as a member of the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering faculties at Northeastern University for 25 years, as a lecturer on Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School, and as Program Director for Biomedical Engineering at the National Science Foundation. His principal research interests include microprocessor-based instrumentation for the quantification of tissue perfusion, thermal properties and cardiac output, bioheat and mass transfer based problems in clinical research, thermal physics of clinical hyperthermia, and thermometry. Dr. Bowman has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT in Nuclear Engineering. He is the author of some 120 publications and abstracts, holds 20 patents and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineers. 

Lisa J. Coffey, Managing Director
Ms. Coffey joined Hemedex Inc. in 2005. She has extensive experience in organizational development and systems development for startup companies and rapid growth businesses. Prior to joining Hemedex, she spent over 20 years developing biotechnology and medical devices teams and infrastructure for a number of companies including Genzyme, ImmunoGen and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. She also worked in project development for Brown University and The Miriam Hospital. Ms. Coffey has extensive experience in manufacturing and cost accounting as well as in managing the scale up process. Ms. Coffey managed several NIH and Darpa grants and co-wrote and received funding on a multi-phase, multi-year NIST grant. She has been responsible for the successful development and implementation of various teams including scientific, bioinformatic, finance & accounting, operations and administration.

James L. Neal, J.D., Chief Legal Counsel
Mr. Neal is an experienced attorney in corporate, commercial and patent law. He has 15 years of experience serving as Chief Legal Council for a major technology company and 8 years of experience in private practice. He has also served as Patent Counsel for several US companies. Mr. Neal is a co-founder of Hemedex where he oversees the development of intellectual property and legal affairs. Prior to Hemedex, he served as Corporate Counsel at Thermo Electron Corporation, a multinational provider of products and services in the energy, environmental and biomedical fields. He was also formerly a patent attorney at Westvaco and Polaroid Corporations. Mr. Neal has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Juris Doctorate (Law) from American University in Washington, D.C.

Dean Honkonen, Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Honkenen joined Hemedex Inc. in 2007. He has 29 years of experience in the medical device industry having held management positions in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Development. Immediately prior to joining Hemedex, Mr. Honkonen was Director of Manufacturing Technologies for Cytyc, Inc. (now Hologic), the industry leader in cervical cancer screening. Prior to Cytyc, he was the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Medica Corporation working in the areas of blood, gas, and electrolyte diagnostics. Mr. Honkonen has a successful record working with the FDA, notified bodies, and regulatory agencies with submissions, inspections, audits, registrations and reporting issues. He also brings significant catheter and capital equipment knowledge to Hemedex from his experience at St. Jude Medical's Cardiac Assist Division and Bard Incorporated's USCI angioplasty/angiography Division.

Daniel A. Sidney, Ph.D., Corporate Director
Dr. Sidney received a B.A. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University, and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Medical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has held several positions with medical device companies including Senior Project Engineer at Thermal Technologies, a Hemedex affiliate; and Lead Physicist at Accuracy, maker of the CyberKnife and TomoTherapy systems for radiation therapy. He has published in the areas of bioheat transfer and respiratory control.

Ray Sidney, Ph.D., Corporate Director
Dr. Sidney received a B.A. from Harvard University in mathematics and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the field of cryptography. Before joining Hemedex's Board of Directors, Dr. Sidney worked in the software industry at Google, Inc., where he was the second engineer hired. Prior to his employment at Google, Dr. Sidney worked at D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and RSA Labs.
