| QFLOW 500® PROBE | PRODUCTS | ||||||
When connected to the Bowman Perfusion Monitor® via an umbilical cord, the minimally invasive, 19-gauge QFlow 500® Probe quantifies tissue perfusion in absolute units continuously and in real time. It is a flexible, medical-grade, radio-opaque catheter that is inserted into the target tissue using the appropriate surgical hardware where it measures focal temperature and tissue perfusion. The probe can be left inserted in the target tissue for up to 10 days. PROBE FEATURES
The QFlow 500® Probe (~1 mm diameter) is composed of a thermistor embedded at the tip of a flexible catheter. The surface of the thermistor is controlled to a small increment (~2 °C) above the tissue baseline temperature. The power dissipated in the thermistor provides a measure of the ability of the tissue to carry heat by both thermal conduction within the tissue and by thermal convection due to tissue blood flow. A passive, proximal thermistor is used to monitor and compensate for temporal tissue baseline temperature changes.
